En Gedi Ancient Synagogue

En Gedi is the largest oasis in Israel. It has springs and waterfalls, and flowing brooks at the foot of the cliffs. The ancient synagogue is a monument to the Jewish community that once lived here. Out of respect for the Jewish tradition of refraining from figurative art, its mosiac decorations are based on geometric forms.

Ceremonies take place in the ancient synagogue.
